This blog probably looks different than the last time you checked it. I decided it was time to upgrade the look a little. I think I like it, but I'll probably tinker with it as I get time.

Things around here are going really well. Allie is about a week and a half old, and Diana and I are just having a lot of fun with her. We've got her on a pretty good schedule, that basically is one hour for feeding, one hour of awake time, and then an hour nap. That's rough, but the general idea.

She is such an easy baby, our confidence levels are getting higher and higher every day. Diana is really enjoying breastfeeding, and Allie is feeding like a champ. We took her to her second pediatrician's appointment today, and she's gained a full pound since being home. So that's great news.

We've had lots of visits in the past week, including both sets of grandparents, as well as Auntie Alicia and David (can I call him Uncle David without making any commentary on their relationship?), as well as Uncle Una for the Charger game, and Uncle Eryn stopped by briefly on his WAY to the Charger game. It was nice to see them all.

It's so great to have this time off from work to hang out at home and be with the family (it feels funny to say stuff like that... I need to get used to words like "daughter" and "family"). It's really nice to not have to worry about anything except for our new project. Friends and relatives have all been very generous with their offers to come over and help, or bring us anything we need, but so far, we're doing pretty well on our own.

I'm not sure how much to think that we're lucky and have a calm, relaxed, easy-to-manage baby. I'm pretty sure that her demeanor isn't going to be totally constant in the coming weeks and months as she wakes up and becomes more aware of her surroundings. But for now, we're taking what we can get and loving every second of it.

One of the best parts? She was born right before Halloween. Have you SEEN baby Halloween costumes? Cutest ever.

More later. Thank you all for your kind emails and support. We appreciate it.
