So things are going pretty well around here. I am free from my quarantine, and excessive measure or not, neither Diana nor Allie got sick. An added bonus was that I got to play a lot of new fun computer games, and Diana got to take care of a baby all by herself. The latter was hard work, but confidence boosting, and since I'm eventually going back to work, good practice.
It sucked being away, though, and not being able to be close to either of my ladies. So I'm happy to be healthy and free and back to changing diapers and snuggling babies.
We've made some big milestones recently. Diana and I took Allie to the park, as well as for a walk along the beach. Allie slept through both, but it was nice to get out of the house. We also had Grandma Dawn come over and babysit while Diana and I went out for lunch and a little walk on the beach, which was great. Allison behaved well for her grandma, and Diana and I were relaxed and had no qualms leaving her.
Other than that, it's pretty much business as usual. Feeding, diaper changes, some playtime (which really just just sitting around and staring while we "entertain" her), and then nap time. Repeat as needed every couple hours until 7pm or 8pm, at which point there's a final feeding, and Diana and Allie go to sleep, and I play until the next feeding (11pm or so).
Nights are sometimes hit or miss, but even the misses aren't too bad. Allison really has a very mild temperament, and has probably only cried for a cumulative hour her entire life. As I type that, it strikes me as pretty incredible, but it's true. She likes being held, and if she's ever upset, picking her up has been sufficient comfort. It's really been pretty easy.
In other (very low-priority, unimportant news) I've been playing some really fun games, all a part of the Half Life "Orange Box" package. Peggle is a really addicting little casual game (kind of like Pachinko mixed with Breakout). Team Fortress 2 is awesome. I'm really enjoying it. And Portal just came out, which has totally blown my mind. It's really re-invented the first person puzzle genre (really the only other thing I can think of that comes close is "Tomb Raider"). Good quality gaming to fill in my short hours of free time.
Life is good.

Dude I really hope you didn't just jinx yourself...
As I remember it, those first few weeks of cooing, fuzzy, sleepy bliss come to an abrupt end. You may want to remember to revisit this post in another two or three months.
That being said, even the wailing cries aren't so bad when you remember where they are coming from.
Thanks... yeah, I'm enjoying it while it lasts. I fully realize it might not be like this forever.
Thanks for the heads up. :)
