A friend of mine at work just found out that her boyfriend was killed in a car accident. They'd been dating for a good bit of time now, and were pretty serious and going to move in together. (He was from England, and they were going to spend time in both countries to decide who was going to move where). And all of a sudden, this.

I feel really bad for her. It's terrible to hear about someone losing someone like that. The only natural thing to do is to put yourself in that person's situation, and come to the realization that, at any moment, any of your friends or loved ones, or even you, could be struck down and killed.

And that's a suck-ass thing to remember.
