So. This weekend we went furniture shopping. I guess I didn't realize how expensive furniture can be! I think we found some things we liked, however, for not too much. We didn't buy anything, but Memorial Day sales might change that.
Diana had golf yesterday, and I went with her to the driving range. I hit poorly, but it was nice to be outside.
We've been watching "Shogun", which I eBay'd recently. It rocks in many ways. It stays pretty close to the books, which is great, but it also has great made-for-TV moments. Every 15 minutes or so there should be a commercial break (were this broadcast on TV), and so every 15 minutes there is sort of a mini-cliffhanger, complete with slow-zoom to closeup of someone's face accompanied by a jarring chord, and fade to black. It's awesome.
Diana the Valkerie continues to fare well through the dungeons of Nethack. She's made it to the mazes of Gehennom. With Mjollinir and the Orb of Fate (which halves all physical damage) and an AC of -37, she's faring quite well. Still left to do: Find Vlad's Tower and defeat him (to get the Candelabrum of Invocation) and find the Wizard and kill him (to get the Book of the Dead), find the vibrating square, enter Molochs Sanctum, kill the priest, get the amulet, and get the freak out of there! Funny that Nethack is one of the first games I've played, and after, what, 15 years, I've never beaten it. It will be a bigbig day when that happens.
