So, buttons.
Not so much news to report, but thought I'd update the ol' blog on this Thanksgiving. Diana has two weeks off for Christmas, and I just scheduled a week off, and we're looking for somewhere to travel. Costa Rica was on the list, but now we're looking at the Bahamas, which appears to be a lot cheaper, and might be a bit more accessible around Christmastime. I decided to play Mike Vick for my fantasy boys, so I've got an eye on him in the background. Pretty soon we're going to head over to Diana's parents house for an afternoon of feasting and fun.
I've been doing a bit of fun computer work. I was given access to a hard drive that contained what I understand to be a complete library of Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, and coin-op arcade games, as well as emulators to run the whole bunch on your PC. I got this copied to my machine, as well as for some friends (particularly Norm, who's planning on building his own arcade cabinet). I've played a lot of Dragon's Lair lately. Crazy for me to think of how many quarters were spent on that game.
We've watched some good Netflix's recently. "Harold and Maude" (MAUDE, eh?) is a classic. We also saw "12 Angry Men", which we both really enjoyed. It's a little forced and predictable, but solidly enjoyable, I thought. Next up is "Modern Times" with Charlie Chaplin.
I recently was in our local Blockbuster renting the last disc of Lost (because Netflix doesn't deliver on Sundays and we *needed* that last disc!), and I couldn't believe how repulsed I was to be in there. I hate video stores. I've spent too many hours of my life wandering around looking for a movie to watch (though I haven't in many years). Netflix rules. Video stores suck.
That's about it for now. My game-programming project has been all but abandoned (but the code is there and can always be returned to). I've been playing Nethack (the ol' standby), as well as "The Movies", which Eryn lent me. I'm having a lot of fun with the latter. There's an adventure game called "Indigo Prophecy" that Diana and I were interested in checking out as well.
Time to get ready for dinner. Hope everyone has a great day!
