I have a new favorite TV commercial. It's for Adelphia cable DVR service.
There is a dad watching football on TV. His little boy runs up to him eagerly. "Dad, can you read me a story?" A look for horror and dissapointment crosses the dad's face. ("Busted. You're mother sent you in here, didn't she?" he seems to say). The boy notices his hesitation, and sees the TV. "Oh. Football," he says, his dissappointment palpable.
The dad thinks fast. Lord knows he doesn't want to miss the big game! "That's ok. I can *pause live TV!*" He clicks a button, and the action in the TV pauses! The boys eyes light up.
Now, at this point you're supposed to see the father reading his boy a story, putting him to bed, and watching the rest of the game, satisfied that he's had his cake and can eat it to.
Instead, he and his boy spend the evening starting and stopping TV, as if by magic, storytime long forgotten. Who needs storytime when there's football on TV!
Good stuff.
Diana and I just spent an hour or two playing "Indigo Prophecy", a PC adventure game. It's pretty fun. It's mostly classic adventure stuff, but with fun little action sequence mini-games thrown in. We're enjoying it.
Chargers won a close one, and the Birdmen are beating up on the Rat Pack in fantasy football. This pleases me.
Yesterday Diana and I did a bit of work around the house, including putting up closet doors that were taken down a long time ago. Hard work, but they're up. We also bought and hung a tapestry in our living room which improves the looks a bit.
And tommorrow, back to work!
