Hullo everyone!

This weekend, I finally put a backup strategy into place. I bought a
second hard drive (I can't believe how cheaply hard drives can be
aquired these days. I got a 160gig SATA for $50 (after mail-in rebate,
which I've yet to do)), and I bought Norton Ghost 10. Installing the
hard drive was a breeze, and Norton Ghost seems really easy to use. If
everything is working like I'm assuming, then every other evening, I'm
taking a full image of my hard drive, and storing it on my new hard
drive. (Actually, the first image is huge... the subsequent images are
just what's changed since the last backup). So, if my hard drive fails,
restoring should just be a matter of buying a new drive, using Ghost to
write the latest image to it, and rebooting. That's the theory, at
least. I'd REALLY like to test it out, but I'd need a third hard drive
(anyone have a spare SATA hard drive I can borrow?)

Sunday, we watched the Chargers try their hardest to lose to the Jets,
but they made a huge defensive stand on their own 3 yard line.
Unbelievable. I'm pretty sure I would have gone fetal for the rest of
the day if they'd lost. My cousin Mike and his family are in town
visiting, and we met them over at my parents house for dinner. They
have two kids (2'ish and 4'ish) who are unspeakably cute. I spent much
of the night on my knees playing with them. They have big plans of
hitting the Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and LegoLand over the
course of 4 or 5 days. Should be fun.

Not a whole lot else going on. Diana has time off from teaching for
both Thanksgiving and Christmas, and we're both ansy to get away for a
vacation, but we haven't nailed anything down yet. Diana just had lunch
with a friend who went on a safari in Kenya, so that has been thrown
into the mix. So many possibilities!

Gotta run...
