Someone stole Diana's Darwin fish off the back of her car. How's that for irony? I presume it was a student at her school, as it's sort of a 13-year-old thing to do. I suppose one could argue that Darwin fish themselves are kind of an immature stab themselves, but I figure if you can't take a step back and have a little laugh at stuff like that, you're going to have a tough time making it through life.
I heard someone on the radio talking about how rainbows were a sign from God (quoting from the Bible about how it was a sign that there would never be another great flood). She said that she'd done research, and that no one really knew how rainbows were made. I found this somewhat hard to believe, but hell if I know how rainbows are made. I know "refraction" fit in there somewhere. Diana whipped out her old high school physics notes, and we found a good worksheet on exactly how light is refracted at what angles to create the different colors of lights. Pretty cool stuff.
In other news, we did some shopping this weekend, and stopped for lunch at the Del Mar Plaza. At the table next to us, there was a guy with his wife and three kids. The guy was wearing a hat and sunglasses, but looked familiar. I asked Diana if she recognized him, and she said "Is that Trevor Hoffman?!" That's who I thought it was, too, so we're going to go with that. I was surprised at was a burly guy he was. Pretty neat sighting.
The word has gone out about Star Wars, and I'm officially getting very excited to see it. We have tickets for the midnight showing on Wednesday night (Thursday morning), which is going to be a ton of fun. It'll be worth getting there early enough to get in line and get good seats. We're seeing it at a theater pretty close to my house, so I could probably do that. I've heard good buzz about the movie, so my expectations are rising.
That's about it for now. Not a whole lot exciting, but nothing too bad, either.
