This weekend was our big "Go Live" weekend at work. It was scheduled for each of the previous two weekends, but got pushed off twice, but now it's here. I had to come in for the morning on Saturday

So, it's Monday morning, and things are actually really quiet! This is a good thing. We're all anticipating that there will be some bumps in the road, but at least we haven't hit bumps too early on. Everyone is using the phrase "knock on wood", so, we'll see.

I had some recent chess triumphs at work at the end of last week. I was ranked #3 on our chess ladder, and played and beat the #2 and then #1 guy. So I'm up at the top, where I certainly don't deserve to be, but there I am. Actually, it's a little skewed, because if you defend your top position 5 times in a row, you go to the bottom (with a star after your name), and we've had one guy do that. In any case, as with lots of other stuff I enjoy, I like observing my own progress. I think others think that I'm really competitive, but I'm really only competitive with myself. I don't mind losing if I feel I've met my own expectations, but I definitely would be unhappy if I played a lot and didn't see any improvement. There's a certain amount of trash talking, as well, so being able to say "Scoreboard" is pretty fun.

And in even other fun news, Teri threw a party for Norm's 30th birthday on Saturday. Teri rented a bunch of those inflatable-party-toy things, and had them all set up at a park. They were a big hit. There was a huge slide, which was awesome, as well as some fun fighting things (inflatable boxing with HUGE oversized gloves, inflatable American Gladiator-style joust pit (with big pugel sticks)), an obstacle course, and sumo suits. Good times.

Sunday afternoon, Diana's mom came over and we went out for Tea. I don't think I've been to an official Tea before. I felt very sophistocated.

World of Warcraft is keeping me busy. I'm having a really great time with it, as are lots of my workboys and Norm. Addiction is your friend.

Diana and I even managed to take a nice walk and talk, as well as get our Portland/Seattle plans in order. We made hotel reservations and car rental stuff for surprisingly cheap! I'm looking forward to the trip.

Last night we watched "Mystic River". Good movie. Pretty intense, and I thought the ending was a little weird, but throroughly enjoyable.

That's about the news from my little world.
