Back to work...

My cars brakes started making a really ugly grinding sound the other day. It's being fixed right now. It's also had a problem for a little while with a faulty idle-air-intake thinger, which would manifest itself by really low idle speeds on bootup, or just flat out stalling. But giving it a little gas would solve the problem so I never really worried about it. But since it's in there for the brakes, seems like it's a good thing to get that fixed as well. I also have a hole in the right-side blinker plastic, which isn't a problem but makes a humming sound when I drive fast. And the spring mechanism to my fuel door broke off, so when I pull the latch, the fuel door release goes, but the door doesn't spring open like it's supposed to. To fix the latter two problems was more expensive then it was worth, so I'm going to handle those myself.

I've been looking at computer upgrade potential. I have a good video card. I have a good soundcard. I have a good hard drive. I need:
New case ('cause I bought a new power supply that's too big for my old case! Doh. Plus, I want to get a tricked out one with a window and lights and all that stuff. :)
New mobo/processor/RAM. I figure once desktop computers are 1.5 times as powerful as mine, it's time to upgrade. My new video card doesn't like my old system very much, either. Given the stuff that I have already, I think I can have a real hot-shit, dream setup for under $1000. I'm thinking Abit IT7-MAX2 v2.0 motherboard, Pentium IV 2.8 Ghz processor, and 512K of some good RAM. *drool*

We're putting our weekend fix to the test right now, and everything is working! Huzzah.
