When I was a kid, my brother got a copy of a Steve Martin comedy album from our next door neighbor. On it, Steve suddenly breaks into song: “Grandpa… bought a rubber!”
At some point, my brother sang this out loud in front of our mom, who didn’t think it was very appropriate, and from then on we weren’t allowed to sing it anymore. So Dave (bless him), changed the lyrics to “Grandpa… made a purchase!”
Even to this day, I find that infinitely more funny than the original. It brings a smile to my face every time.

Teri and I both quote the 'made a purchase' line at any odd interval. Always funny.
