Happy Birthday to me.
Happy Birthday to me.
Happy Birthday dear Adman.
Happy Birthday to me.

Huzzah. Welcome to The Thirties. Population: me.

I went out with a few peeps on Friday evening. Had some grub, a couple margs. Norm gave me the 90's Edition of Trivial Pursuit, so we headed back to our pad and gave that a try. Pretty good game. Gabe and I gave it a run for our money, but Diana and Iwan were able to hold us off and claim victory. Eryn, on his own team, was no slouch either. Good times all around.

Yesterday, I got up and headed over to my parents house, picked up my pops, and we went to see the Chargers play Denver. It was raining and cold, and there was a certain allure of sitting in a warm house by a fire, watching the game on TV, but we forged on. We parked at a nearby park-and-ride, and took the bus to the stadium, which, as far as I'm concerned, is maybe the best way to do it (unless you're interested in tailgating beforehand, which has it's own pros and cons). Buses get their own special route into and out of the stadium, so we passed up a huge line of cars on the freeway, waiting to get in and find parking, and were dropped off straight away. After the game, we went back to the bus, and with a clean escape route out of the packed stadium, we were home and sitting by said warm fire in about 40 minutes.

At the stadium, we met up with Iwan and Gabe and Eryn, and together braved the elements. Diana assisted in my packing for the game, and at the time, I grudgingly accepted the hat and gloves she suggested, figuring I wouldn't need them. Turns out they were pretty crucial, and I was really glad to have 'em. So, big props to Diana for that. The game itself was awesome. The Chargers started off early in the lead, then the Broncos came back, and we held 'em off in the last minutes by a miraculous interception in the end zone. A real nail-biter. We all had a blast.

After the game, Diana came over to my parents house and we had a little family birthday celebration, opened some pressies, etc. One present was the DVD of Ghostbusters, and when my dad revealed he hadn't seen it, we decided to watch it after dinner. Good stuff.

And now, back to work. I've gotten about as many happy birthday wishes I can stand for a year, which is nice. Some work peeps took me out to lunch, which was thoughtful. Round that out with a misty, loving call from a proud mom, and you've got yourself one heck of a birthday.
