Diana's parents got us a six month subscription to Netflix, which I've been looking at for a while. It will be interesting to see how it works out, and how much movie-watching our schedules allow. We got started by rating a bunch of stuff we'd already seen, and then choosing more stuff. Our first shipment arrived two days after signing up, which is sort of incredible. We watched a "Cadfael" episode, which is a PBS Mystery series, which was a lot of fun. I look forward to more of those. We also got the first season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", which is pretty good. It's kind of stressful to watch, though. We also got "Elf", which we haven't seen. It might be dumb, but we always laugh at the commercials, so we'll see. I look forward more choices, especially things like Mystery series and independent films and stuff like that, not easily rentable.
I played a fun game of chess last night. It was a timed game, and in spite of being at a serious disadvantage by losing my queen early on, I ended up winning the game when the other guys time expired. At that point, I only had 4 seconds left, so it really came down to the wire. Good stuff. Best part was halfway through the game, special guest star Discostup showed up. Apparently, if I'm playing Yahoo chess, I show up as "online" and playing chess in peoples Yahoo IM clients. He had some easy option to join the room I was in, and there he was. Pretty fun.
I uploaded that chess game here.
I had more to write about, but I've been interrupted, and now I don’t know what it was. Oh well. I've got Ashlee Simpson in my head, and to be honest, I'm not too unhappy about it. "You make we want to la-la…"
Cue making fun of Adman...... now!
