I had a really great weekend!

Friday afternoon, I joined Diana and her parents to see her school's production of the play Urinetown (yeah, that's right). It's a silly musical that basically is a spoof on every Broadway musicial you've seen (kind of reminded me of "Lease" from "Team America"). It was entertaining and fun.

Friday night, we went to a party celebrating and saying goodbye to a co-worker who has been with the company for 14 years. She was the one-person Systems department for a long time, before the rest of us chumps got hired. It was a nice time, and it's nice to be able to share Diana with my coworkers, and vice versa.

Saturday, we got up with a mission, and that mission was to clean up the garage. Diana worked on the general clutter while I pared away at Cardboard Mountain, which was a huge pile of cardboard boxes that used to contain everything from furniture to fruit to CDs. The garage looks much better now, so that was satisfying.

That afternoon/evening, I drove up with Iwan and Little Jay to the OC to visit the Buhrs and watch the De La Hoya fight. I'm not a particularly big boxing fan, but it was fun to hang out and visit the entire Buhr clan. It's funny how much the future of boxing appeared to ride on the popularity of that fight. As Gabe pointed out, the announcers made some jabs at Ultimate Fighting, and I heard on the radio that UFC stuff is really biting into the popularity of boxing. I wonder how that will all pan out.

Sunday, Diana and I did some errands, including a brief but official visit to Babies 'R' Us to look at furniture. Until recently, a visit to a baby store wouldn't have been my preferred way to spend a Sunday morning, but it was actually really fun. We were able to get a grasp on the kind of furniture that we liked, and it was really fun to look all the baby stuff. They sell little themed kits for cribs which are fun... little froggies or barnyard animals or Winnie ther Pooh, etc. I think Diana is going to have to restrain me from going too crazy with the cutsey little girl things. :) We also stopped at Frys to get a preliminary look at TVs, as well as furniture places to get some ideas about a new entertainment center.

Sunday afternoon was spent rocking out, since I somehow lost all my Guitar Hero 2 saved data. Good times, but my wrist isn't too happy about it. After dinner, we started watching "Gatacca", which was intriguing, but was cut short due to premature sleepage.

Some quality time with Diana, with friends, and by myself. All an Adman needs to be happy.
