Normally, I enjoy and embrace my geeky heritage, but honestly, hearing a bunch of computer geeks trying to sound like pirates has crossed the line of what I can stand. It's like a bad Rennaiscence Faire (with an 'e') right in your own office! Good times.
In other news, a while ago I wrote a program that tracked mouse and keyboard movement. I didn't know what to do with it, so I converted pixels moved to actual distance moved (using a combination of screen resolution and physical monitor size). So, it was pretty neat at the end of a day to see that your cursor travelled 0.348923984 miles. I talked to a friend of mine at work and asked if he had any cool ideas, and he thought doing some sort of art program would be neat.
So, I added some basic drawing stuff to the program, and let it run in the background for a little. Dots are drawn when the mouse is moved, and when I click, a larger circle is drawn. Colors are incremented, again based on movement. I'd like to add more features (different responses to keypresses and dragging, for example), but I'm pretty stoked on the results.
Here's my first hour or so at work...
